Announcing the 2026 Frozen Fellowship Festival!

MCHA is excited to announce the 2026 Frozen Fellowship Festival!

The Frozen Fellowship Festival is a 3v3 half-ice event that will be held on Jan 11th, 2026!

Get ready for a fun day of competing on the ice and growing in faith off the ice!  The Frozen Fellowship Festival will feature a packed schedule of fast-paced 3v3 half-ice hockey and cross-team ministry content (provided by MCHA Ministry Coordinator Tim Chastain) before every game to build up community and camaraderie!

Each team will consist of 8 - 10 players and a goalie.  All games will be played at the Allen Community Ice Rink on a half-ice sheet and will consist of a 3 minute warmup and two 25-minute run-time periods.

Each team is guaranteed at least 3 games:  teams will play two games in a seeding round robin, followed by a 2-round single-elimination bracket to determine the festival champion(s).  Final format will be determined based on the level of teams that sign up.  All players on the winning team will receive commemorative awards!

This 3v3 event will be held on Jan 11, 2026, between the end of the regular season and the playoffs.  It is open to all MCHA players in the 2025 Fall/2026 Winter season, but there are a limited number of team slots available so contact us to reserve your team's spot today!

The cost for this event is $570 per team (cost per player will depend on how many players are on a given roster...for a full roster of 10 players and a goalie the cost would be $18/game for skaters and $10/game for goalies).

Unique rules for MCHA 3v3 events can be found here and include:

  • No icing, no offsides, and no timeouts.
  • When the score gets lopsided, the losing team can add players to the ice to recover (4 goal differential = 4 players on the ice for the losing team, 5 or more goal differential = 5 players on the ice for the losing team).  The normal 3 goal limit for each player will also be in effect.
  • Minor penalties result in a penalty shot.  All other players line up in front of the bench, and if the goalie stops it or the shooter misses, play is immediately live!
